For the 101st Urban Infra Forum, the International School of Urban Sciences (ISUS) at the University of Seoul is pleased to welcome Former President Lee Myung-bak, 17th President of the Republic of Korea, for a keynote address titled “Seoul’s Bus Reform & Cheonggyecheon Restoration: Achievements & Lessons Learned.”

As Mayor of Seoul (2002–2006), Former President Lee led two landmark urban transformation initiatives: the modernization of Seoul’s public bus system and the restoration of the Cheonggyecheon Stream. This lecture will explore the leadership, policy choices, and urban strategies that shaped these projects and discuss their implications for future city governance and innovation.
