Educational objectives

Core objectives
  • 1. The Department of Architectural Engineering approaches problem-solving related to the essence of architecture qualitatively and strives to contribute to the academic development of the architectural field by systematically acquiring this knowledge through in-depth research by professors and students in fields such as structure, construction management and execution, materials, environment, and facilities.
  • 2. In researching specialized and subdivided fields of architecture, we focus on pursuing theoretical depth while cultivating the ability to apply acquired knowledge to architectural practice and adapt to real-world situations, ultimately aiming to cultivate personnel who can create a healthy social environment in Korea's architectural academia and practical fields.
Detailed objectives
  • 1. Improving the quality of research and systematically acquiring knowledge to develop abilities as specialized technicians

    • 1-1 Activating research through participation in national support projects (e.g., ERC, BK21, and NRL)
    • 1-2 Cultivating capable technicians who can conduct independent research activities in their specific specialized fields
  • 2. Conducting integrated research in specialized and subdivided fields and construction projects to develop the ability to apply knowledge to architectural practice and adapt to real-world situations

    • 2-1 Developing practical adaptation skills through the operation of curricula necessary for practice
    • 2-2 Cultivating recognition as engineers who can solve problems with engineering thinking in society
  • 3. Cultivating personnel who can contribute to practical fields and create a healthy social environment

    • 3-1. Cultivating specialized construction technicians who can recognize the reality of the construction sector and seek solutions
    • 3-2. Developing researchers' capabilities to discover and execute key technologies and large-scale complex projects related to construction
  • 4. Expanding academic exchanges to become a world-class university

    • 4-1 Activating international academic exchanges and collaborative research with foreign universities
    • 4-2 Cultivating internationally recognized technicians through exchanges of visiting professors and students
