Educational objectives

Core objectives The Department of Materials Science and Engineering aims to cultivate creative and professional engineers with comprehensive research capabilities to develop materials that meet required properties under actual conditions by deeply understanding material properties and microscopic structures in response to rapidly advancing modern scientific and technological civilization
Detailed objectives

We emphasize effective research by establishing research equipment and management systems considering the connectivity of each subject, operating educational programs focused on developing new materials, such as fine ceramics, metal materials, electronic materials, structural materials and semiconductor materials, which are fundamental to the material, component and equipment industries that underpin Industry 4.0
Graduate students are encouraged to establish original and in-depth research plans through specialized courses in their majors, and undergraduate students learn advanced technologies in their fields by studying theoretical backgrounds and application areas based on foundational theories

Research areas

Microstructure analysis of materials, functional sensors, functional ceramic structural materials, microjoining, microelectronics/materials, semiconductor processes, display materials, organic semiconductors
