Educational objectives

Master's degree
  • Individuals who have obtained a bachelor's degree from domestic or foreign universities or those expected to obtain a degree upon completion of the current registered semester
  • Individuals recognized as having equivalent or higher academic qualifications under relevant laws
Doctorate's degree
  • Individuals who have obtained a bachelor's degree from domestic or foreign universities or those expected to obtain a degree upon completion of the current registered semester
  • Individuals recognized as having equivalent or higher academic qualifications under relevant laws
Eligibility for master's/doctorate's
support for North Korean defectors
  • Individuals qualified to apply for master's or doctorate's program
  • Individuals registered as North Korean defectors pursuant to the North Korean Defectors Protection and Settlement Support Act

Prerequisite courses (for foreign students admitted to master's program)

  • Korean linguistics major: Korean Grammar (offered in 1st semester), History of Korean Language (offered in 1st semester)
  • Korean literature major: History of Korean Literature I (offered in 2nd semester), History of Korean Literature II (offered in 1st semester)

Minimum publication requirements for doctoral dissertation

  • At least one paper published as first author in a journal listed (or candidate) by the National Research Foundation of Korea

Graduate school operating principles

  • Full-time priority: Selection of scholarship recipients, assignment of research lab seats, etc.
